Hi everyone. Currently I am completing a degree in GIS through distance learning at home. I have 4 more courses to complete, so I will be done in a year or so.

I have a bit of a dilemma - I live in a small town of 20,000 people and we are 2 hours by car away from any major city. I know for sure the municipal office uses ArcGIS. But other than that, I'm not aware of any other businesses or consultants who may use GIS in town.

I'm very new to GIS and have never seen it in use in the real world - other than my cell phone apps or my ArcGIS license at home. I need to complete a 6 month, paid, full time co-op term to complete my degree.

Would there be any kind of opportunities to work for someone online? Or, can anyone suggest other solutions?
