This summer, we want your help in building maps for Wikipedia! Join mapmakers from around the planet for the first ever MapLift, organized by NACIS and the FixWikiMaps Project. In a series of events from August 28th through September 4th, our collection of volunteers will be contributing their skills to upgrade existing Wikipedia maps and make new ones.

For more details and to sign up, visit nacis.org/maplift. We want your help!

Thanks Daniel, I think I'm going to try and put together a university meet up for this and possibly a Silicon Valley MapTime meeting as well. Good opportunity for fledgling map makers to get some practice. And a great opportunity to teach some cartography to GIS users!

And folks, the Cartography page on Wikipedia could use some •serious• attention.
