Hi all,

I'm calculating a variety of watershed health indicators (amount of forest cover, agricultural lands, etc) using the National Land Cover Dataset, but the project requires annual updates of the metrics. Does anyone know if a comparable land cover dataset exists that is updated annually?

The study area is Western Washington, in the Snoqualmie watershed.

Thanks in advance!

Ben

The state GIS portal has land cover data at 5 year intervals starting in 1992 for western Washington.

My impression is that land cover data is labor-intensive, so it's not updated that often.

Thanks Melita! I'll check that out.

That's been my understanding as well, that the time-consuming nature of the task forced the longer update intervals.
