I thought a list of online jobs resources would be a great idea. If you can contribute to the list, please do so! Let's see if we can build the most comprehensive resource for cartographic, GIS, remote sensing, geography related positions online!

Jobs with the USGS
Openings with the United States Geological Survey.

Penn State Job Board
GIS/Cartographic related positions from a job board at Penn State. These jobs (for the most part) are not located at Penn State.

U.S. Government Job Board
Federal jobs board with various openings in many different fields. Try GIS, GEOGRAPHER, REMOTE SENSING, and CARTOGRAPHER.

GIS Jobs Clearinghouse
A website dedicated to postings in the GIS field. Almost all of these posts are not academic. Updated daily.

Canadian Association of Geographers
A lot of university openings can be found at the above link. Much too many to list. Many are physical, human, and geomorphology related. Largely academic.

National Park Service (U.S.) Fire Management
Most NPS jobs are on listed on the USA Jobs (see above) but some of the GIS related fire jobs are located here.

European Geography Association
Mixture of Geography related jobs in Europe. Good mix of Academic and Non-academic positions. Oddly, some openings are in the U.S.

Chronicle of Higher Education
The Chronicle's listing of openings. Almost all of these are academic

Well, it is great to post all these URLs listing various job openings in the field of GIS however quite a large number of forum members on Cartotalk are freelancers. Is there a list of Freelance site specially dedicated to the field of GIS and Cartography? Also are there any enterprising individuals who would think on building a freelance job site for Cartography and GIS work only?

I am just kinda thinking loud, if only Cartotalk can be extended to say CartoWork and becomes a resource for jobs for all of us.
