I’m not sure where to post this – so here it goes:

A while back (several months ago) I was working on a proof -of-concept
for a mapping idea. It dealt with grouping zip codes together into a sales type
region and displaying them on a map.

A co-worker and I were able to ingest the zip code database
from the census bureau into a MSSQL database and created the groupings we
needed.

Then, using our own webserver and Open Layers – we viewed
those maps on OpenStreetMap.org

Now, to move forward – I’m lost.

We need don’t want to ping OpenSteetMaps – we want our own ‘OpenStreetMaps’
type of server.

We have a windows box with MSSQL & IIS. Yet, I don’t
know what needs to be installed to create our own instance. All the
instructions I find about OSM is really – convoluted.

Can anyone tell me – what I need to install and the order I
need to go?

Thanks,

LEo
