I'll take one copy of Maps and Charts please!  ; )

That is a gorgeous marketing peice. I feel your frustration, having spent over 10 years as a dead tree cartographer myself, eventually seeing our group shut down becasue mangement saw the inveitable end to print mapping on the horizon.

In our case web mapping and in-car navigation delt a serious blow to printed street maps, but in the grander scheme of things I agree with your general sentiment that print mapping is here to stay. And as digtial forms of way finding make more people less geographically literate, they also make more of them map aware. And that's a decent trade off in the long run.

Keep up the fight.

David
