I'm a software application developer in Colorado. Have been building software one way or another for close to 3 decades now, web apps for the past 18 years, and mobile apps (iOS) for a couple of years. Sometimes it makes me feel quite old. :-)
My first introduction to cartography and GIS was a few years ago, when I developed legal2map.com for a client using Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, GEOS, CS-MAP, Amazon Web Services and Google Maps. Now I'm building another system, this time using PostGIS and FME, with a custom Python library I've written to do the heavy lifting. It's been a wild ride, but a great deal of fun too.
I don't know how much I'll be able to contribute in terms of cartography or GIS. But I do have some knowledge of the broader field of software engineering.
