The Ordnance Survey published a list of helpful map design resources on their blog: http://blog.ordnance...ember_238901722

Thanks Hans! I have cross posted to the Cartographers' Guild.

We are not mentioned in his list <sniff>

I was pretty pleased to see Cartotalk, and the Atlas of Design, get a mention.

Ravells, I'd love to check out the Cartographer's Guild, been meaning to do so for a while in fact, but it seems the site is down at the moment, do you know what's going on?

The link http://www.cartographersguild.com is working for me, but the link in ravells sig is not.

@Hans & Michael, ah it was a really old link which I hadn't changed after we updated the site. I've repaired it now!

Haven't been on Cartographer's Guild for a while, but there's people there (Ravells included) that do incredible stuff. I'd love to use some of the techniques I learned there to do some "realistic" mapping.

Worth a look!

(and they still send annual "Happy Anniversary" emails so you know they are nice people ;) )
