Greetings,

Using MapWindow I converted a .shp file to a .kml file.

I then opened the .kml file in Google Earth and generated an elevation profile.

 

When I examined the profile a noticed an elevation drop where none should be.

 

Questions:

How do I determine if this drop was in the original shape file or if it ocurred when I reprojected the file and then exporterd to a KML?

 

My GIS skills are rudimentary at best. And I am not a regular user.

I use AV 3.2 and just recently downloaded and started using MapWindow.
