I am doing a spatial join. The problem I am having is that when I join the features, it is not actually reading the numbers in the integer field. So if I have a field in the attribute tables where the values are short integers (5,4, etc.) I am only getting a field with values (0,0,0,0).

I've tried changing fields from 'string values' to 'short integers' and this doesnt work.

I am assuming this is in ArcGIS. Make sure both layers are .shp files. I have had problems trying to perform spatial joins on event layers from tabular or database files. After both are in .shp format it seems to work. Good luck!

Have you recently downloaded service pack 4 for ArcGIS 10? If so, it could be related to a bug recently identified by ESRI. They just released a new patch that should correct for this error: http://resources.arc...amp;MetaID=1857

Hope this helps!
