I've just started using OCAD as my primary Carto software after years of ESRI & MAPublisher. Generally it's ugly but functional. The trouble is, I'm finding it slow to assign symbols to imported items with complex topology and it freezes regularly. Is there any way to allocate more computer resources to OCAD? I've played with the paging file and I don't think it's the answer. I'm wondering if OCAD has a feature like AI's "Scratch Disk" allocation.

In a current version of OCAD (10) assigning symbols by database attributes is painfully slow even using simple conditions. In my production workflow I'm using mostly dxf import with adequate crt mapping files. This works fine and very fast but probably not in the case of very complex (polygon) topology

I didn't tested OCAD 11 yet but I hope for faster symbolization due to new database engine.
