Dear all,,
i want to extract an area of interest from more than 6 ECW image format, then i want to use the out put image in illustrator; it doesn't support ecw as far as i know so i need to convert the out put to another format..( what is the recommended format for such a case?
I tried to compile these ecw images in one image, i used mosaic dataset, Raster dataset then from raster function i used clip function but it didn't work, i tried Global mapper raster export function to compile the Ecw but i still have a problem
Any advice
Thanks in Advance

Could you be a bit more specific about the problem you're still having? Global Mapper should be able to make an extract out of an ECW (or a mosaick of several ECW's) and save that as a Tiff or JPG. Both of those can be used in Illustrator.
But.... Illustrator is not very good at handling very large raster datasets, this does depend for a bit on your hardware, so it's not easy to say what will or what won't work, but there are limits to what it can open.

If you have Adobe Illustrator, do you have Adobe Photoshop? If you have Adobe Photoshop, try it with Avenza's Geographic Imager. You have 6 ecw images. open them in Photoshop, mosaick them (combine all 6 images to one), crop it to your area of interest, then export it as Geotiff. Now you can bring the output Geotiff image to Adobe Illustrator.
You can ask more question about this to support@avenza.com or please visit http://www.avenza.co...ographic-imager :-) I hope this helps.

Bilal - GM should have no problem with this - you might want to ask your question on the GM forum, or on the GM mailing list.
