Does anyone here have any experience with converting BSB or KAP files to Geotiff? I'm trying to import NOAA RNC charts to MAPublisher but these only come as BSB files. I've done this in the past but can't seem to remember the utility or method I used.

Avenza is currently looking into the possibility of providing read support for BSB for Geographic Imager.
In the meantine if you have access to either Global Mapper or FME both of these packages provide read/write support for BSB/GeoTIFF and the translation could be done there.
You can download a trial of Global Mapper from here

Thanks. Unfortunately I don't have a need for Geographic Imager for any other work so not worth the expense, but good to know it will be added.
I did find that my old copy of ImageConverter will open the BSB and save it as a TIF. and I can georef that in MAPub. In the mean time I used my work copy of Arc to create actual Geotif conversions. Still looking for a good Mac solution that doesn't require me using my work computer for personal projects though.

Why not use NOAA's tool?
http://www.csc.noaa....hartreprojector
It'll give you a geotiff.
This program is highly out-of-date. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate , and the SETUP.EXE file won't install.
I've sent in a Tool Feature Request to NOAA to update this to modern GUI standards.
If someone else has found a workaround, please post here, or email me directly at firefishe AT gmail DOT com .
Thanks for any help given.

Funny, it runs on my windows 7 machines just fine. Old GUI, sure. But it works. I think the open source OGR and GDAL can read it.
