Hi all,

I would be very interested in obtaining a highly detailed vector map of the world, suitable for loading into Adobe Illustrator. I just need an outline map of land masses and tidal rivers. Labels and interior details are not necessary.

Desired size is at least 4-feet pole-to-pole when printed at 100% resolution.

Equirectangular or Mercator projection is desired.

My platform is a fast 64-bit machine with 32GB RAM and unlimited disk space, so working with a large source is feasible.

Can anyone recommend a source for such a vector map? I can pay for it.

I have searched some sites but am not finding anything large and highly detailed.

Natural Earth Vector set should do you. It's in shapefile format, so if you don't have GIS software or MaPublisher, you'd need someone to translate it into AI.
