Hello, I am looking for a resources for topographic files of Greece that can be imported into GIS software, or that can be directly opened in AutoCAD software.

Does anyone know if Greece has something like the USGS?

OpenStreetMap is a good point to start:

I wouldn't call OpenStreetmap "topographic" to be honest.

And to give a useful answer:
There's the Hellenic Mapping and Cadastral Organisation (but you kinda have to know Greek for that one) and the Hellenic Military Geographical Service.

Alternatively, depending on what you want to use the data for, you might be able to get by with old Russian topo maps of Greece. They're available at a nominal fee, but can also be downloaded one by one (through a captcha) if you have enough patience.

For topography (as in elevation model) you can try the ASTER GDEM or SRTM datasets. VMAP would have lakes, rivers etc.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I have not had a chance to look into your suggestions yet, but I am about to do so. To give you more information about what I am looking for, I need to create an AutoCAD file of the topography of a site on a Greek Island Normally, I would get the shape files from a municipality's GIS site, but I don't know where to look in this case. I do not read Greek, obviously that is an impediment. I will look into your ideas, but if anyone has other thoughts, please let me know.
