I have worked on the New Mapmaker Award in the past. This is a fantastic opportunity for cartography students and young professionals to get recognition for their work. British, American, Canadian, and Swiss mapmakers have won it in the past, so it is very much an international award.

As stated, you can get more information at the British Cartographic site (http://www.cartograp...?contentID=1024), but National Geographic also has a webpage with this and other student awards (http://www.natgeomap.../mapawards.html).
