I was just browsing the January 2012 desktop wallpapers available on Smashing Magazine (I'm not affiliated with them) and noticed that there is a map-based wallpaper featured this month.

The map I'm referring to is under the "Facts" heading as you scroll down the page.
If you want a place to feature your work, submit a map with a "timely" theme. If they pick yours it would be good exposure for you.
