Hi, this may be a basic task but after some searching I can't find a clear answer.
In ArcMap, I have a set of coordinates plotted out. I also have polygons visible. What I would like to do is match the coordinates to the corresponding polygon and output this in a text file.

You can use the near geoprocessing tool to find the polygon that is closest to each point. You will get a matching object ID , use that to join your one FC to the other.
