Very good ! I really like it ! For what it's worth from one beginner, I would suggest seeing how the map would like if you were to change the font for neighboring countries and cities (outside Turkey) to have a slight shaded fill [I would not use any gradient]. This could draw less attention to the neighboring cities and countries.

Love to see the scale changed to show Kilometers rather than the relative scale.

Otherwise, I like the map. I would agree with the suggestion to scale down or mute the color of the cities in the other countries.

Looks very good! But: do you really need such a dense lat-long grid? Do you need it all? Maybe just present every 5 degrees instead?

Really nice work Florin :) There's a text overlap in the bottom right (Iraq and Dijlah). If I may also suggest, you could enlarge and spread the letters of Turkey over more of the country - it would be a really nice touch to make them curve gently as the graticule parallels do.
