Is anyone here aware of an app for either Android or iOS that will read KML layers and overlay on a GPS enabled map? Ideally I would like to see a simple KML layer of points on the Google Maps iOS app.

This is a feature that will be coming to our PDF Maps all very soon.

That will be a great addition to the maps app. Any chance the MAPublisher flash map exports would get the same functionality?

Unfortunately for my immediate need this isn't a full solution since I also need the routing capability of Google maps under the KML overlay.

Based on a quick search it seems like you can use a combination of the Google Earth App and a Google My Maps account to view a KML file.

Alternatively, if your KML has a web address you can overlay that on a Google Map, and view this in a browser on an iOS device...I think.

Hope that helps,
David

That depends on what OS you are using on your phone. There are new ones all the time. Personally, I like using Sygic because you can integrate layers, similar to Layar (Android only).

Now, if Apple made developing apps easier for third-party companies, we'd have a lot more!

I haven't much awareness about the KML. Google Earth and Google maps are very important applications for the iOS and Android phone. Is this right that KML is work on the iOS or Android Phones..? Then How I use KML in my iPhone 4.?

Yes KML framework is also applicable for iOS. Google Maps is a well known app both for iOS and Android. But I have not efficient idea about it.
