Job Description
Salary: $75,000 per year
Start Date: Approximately December 5, 2011
Tour of Duty: Full-time (includes benefits) for 12 months with possibility of extension depending on project funding and performance.
Colorado State University (CSU) cooperates with the National Park Service (NPS), Resource Information Services Division (RISD) to develop and complete research and information management projects that benefit NPS and CSU. The RISD is part of the National Information Systems Center in the Office of Information Resources, a Washington, D.C.-based program, located in Lakewood, Colorado. The RISD services portfolio includes planning and coordinating implementation of web mapping to meet park and program management requirements for 390+ park units throughout the National Park System. In addition, RISD is responsible for the development, deployment, and maintenance of Service-wide GIS databases that allow park staff to utilize geospatial data and tools to support high quality and scientifically-credible information products. The primary focus of this position is to develop, document, and maintain web mapping applications in support of the NPS mission.
