DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (in brief)
The GIS Specialist/Cartographer will serve as the lead staff person to help Adventure Cycling Association (ACA) create and sustain the GIS component of our bicycle route mapping system. Key duties will include: serving as the technical resource person for ACA's spatially enabled relational database management system; developing and managing ACA's geodatabases; assisting in the creation of bike route maps; educating ACA staff on how to use the ACA geodatabases and ArcGIS applications; periodically installing GIS hardware and software systems; and providing cartographic and report services and technical support for various projects. The Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining the cartographic workflow from ArcGIS to Adobe Illustrator, and into Adobe InDesign.
