We've had a very full programme at NACIS this year, with 3 parallel tracks during the main conference, so it was very hard to pick and choose which presentations to go to. People have asked for a central place to share the presentation slides.
If you have presented at this year's NACIS conference and want to share your presentation slides or any links that you may have mentioned during your talk, or even just a small synopsis of what you presented on, please use this thread. You can attach PDF files or link to them if you have them on your own site.
This call also goes out to anybody who had a poster up, especially the students who participated in the student poster competition. I personally was very impressed by the quality of the work that was showcased and I've heard many people remarking on that as well.

I'll go first
My talk was during Practical Cartography Day, I presented some methods to improve the quality of automated text placement engines such as Maplex, LabelPro and Label-EZ (without going into specific details on those apps by the way). It is still very much a work in progress and I hope to either present or write about this in more detail in the not too distant future.

Hi folks,
I delivered the title "Interactive Cartography: What We Know and What We Need to Know" on Oct 13, 3:45pm in the Dynamic Mapping session. The slides are available for download at the above link through SlideShare.
If there is interest in creating a NACIS2011 SlideShare library, I am willing to contribute my presentation as well as past NACIS presentations.
Three cheers for NACIS!
Rob

I'll be blogging about my PCD at some point in the future, I hope. Meanwhile, though, I want to let everyone know that the posters from the map galley are going to be uploaded on another thread, in the Map Gallery section: http://www.cartotalk...p...=40348&st=0

I gave a demo at PCD of software for "texture shading," a new method of showing terrain relief. The software is available free at www.box.net/textureshading, along with last year's slides which give an introduction to the topic, and some sample images including those I showed at PCD.
If you download the software, check back for occasional updates. If you like, email me through CartoTalk and I'll let you know when changes are made, or with a free Box.net account you can "join" my folder to get notified of updates.

Here is my image-heavy presentation on the NPS National Mall mobile application. Better yet, get the app for free on Apple App Store or Google Android Marketplace (soon).
