My background includes a Master's Degree in Geography from Penn State University. For the past two years, I've been working both as an employee and independently as a contractor for web mapping, GIS analysis, and cartography projects. I'd like to make contacts for potential full-time or part-time jobs in southeastern New England and contract work anywhere in the world. I will be based out of southern RI for the next few years. Ideally, I'd like to work from home with a day or two a week in the office, which would expand the range of locations I could work at.

For the past few years, my work has focused on using Flex 4 to develop data-drive web mapping Rich Internet Applications. While much of this work involves user interface design, I have additional experience and interest in doing traditional GIS analysis (using the Arc suite), data visualization-centric design, and traditional cartography.

The type of organization that I would like to work for would ideally align with my personal mission statement that follows: Striving to use geovisualization, cartography, and visual analytics to aid environmental scientists by developing and improving methods and techniques that allow researchers to take advantage of large, heterogenous data sets for formulating, addressing, and answering questions related to: climate change, biodiversity, environmental science, land use and land cover change, conservation, and sustainable and local agriculture.

My C.V. is attached. Please feel free to contact me with any offers of employment.
