I'd like to share some of my 3D pictorial map illustrations I've drawn over the years contracting with Mapformation LLC. Some of these I've already shared here in the Map Gallery in the past. But I thought it was pretty cool to see all these map illustrations together to see the variations in style.
I created a sampling on my Facebook account with links to the Mapformation portfolio so you can zoom in and see the fine details. Most of the illustrations were done in Photoshop, some in Illustrator, and finishing graphic touches in InDesign. You can tell the difference between raster and vector style. Most were based on excellent aerial photography that we hired out. Some based on free online reference. Some based on actual site visits. You can see how my tree palette has changed over the years too. Now I'm actually combining raster trees into vector designs for another unique look - see Brooklyn College for an example.
Enjoy!
