Request for Map Prices

DWJ BOOKS LLC, a small book packager, is looking for a freelancer to create four maps. The maps will be used in a library reference book, not a textbook, on U.S. foreign policy.

Title: U.S. Foreign Policy

Working map titles: Territorial Expansion of the United States, ca.1783-1854; world map, with focus on WWII Europe (full page); Arab Spring; Iraq and Afhanistan)

Book trim: 8 1/2 x 11”

Map sizes: 1 full page; 3 at 1/2–2/3 page

Color: For online edition: 4/color jpegs at 150 dpi.

For printed book: Please also supply a b/w version at300 dpi, scalable, with fonts embedded, and in PDF format.


Legends: Maps will have a compass rose and legend at right.

Style: Maps are to be fairly simple with minimal shading. The goal is to keep costs down by adapting your standard stock maps to DWJ’s basic specs.

Audience: Upper high school and college-age researchers

Special Instructions: Please email us an estimate. Be very competitive as price is perhaps the most important factor in this case. As a small book packager of reference books for the library, we are under a very tight budget. Please let me know your best pricing structure.
