STOP PRESS......

The inaugural New Zealand Cartographic Society Map Awards are open to anyone with a creative bent and entry is FREE!!!

There are just two categories - printed map and digital map. All you have to do is abide by the rules and submit your entry or entries - which must be received by 31 October 2011.

The awards will be judged at the Surveying and Spatial Sciences Conference in Wellington, November 21-25.

There will be no tacky million dollar prizes here. Instead we offer classy certificates and the chance to become world famous in New Zealand.

None at all - you can send us any kind of map you like. We expect the judges will be more interested in aesthetics and how well the map delivers on its stated intent.
