Hello!
I am new to CartoTalk, and very excited to have found the group!
I have a BS in Geography and MA in Urban and Regional Planning, and I currently work as a land planner/zoning administrator in the local government of a small coastal city in Florida. As the only formally trained GIS'er on staff, I have become entrenched in data management, analysis and mapmaking, and I love being able to create maps that are not only useful but aesthetically appealing.
Besides 2D, I am also interested in 3D mapping and visualization, and application of mapping technologies to history, architecture and archaeology. I hope to soon return to graduate school for further study of cartography.
TGIF! - Hope everyone has a happy and safe Memorial Day Weekend!

Welcome! Did you, by any chance, make it to the NACIS meeting in St. Petersburg last October? This year's meeting is going to be in Madison, WI. It's a great place to meet other cartographers and map people and to learn all sorts of things about cartography.
