An exquisite sample from the golden age of cartography. I was going to remark on the exemplary type placement -- but then noticed, on careful examination, that this was hand-lettered.

Wow, thanks for that link. I like the old english lettering calling out burial mounds. Thats something I've never seen before. (I'm looking SE of Ilfracombe)

Thanks for the find. I notice that what's now Heathrow Airport is simply marked aerodrome.

Wow this is a beautiful map!! I spent 3 and a half years in Scotland and seeing this map brought back so many wonderful memories. I long for the time when I can travel back and explore some more.
