Ethan here. GIS analyst and lifelong map nerd in Seattle. I’m currently unemployed but most recently was at Weyerhaeuser Company (forest products co.) for five years and at the Seattle Fire Department for 1.5 years before that.
As with a lot of GIS folks, cartography has, for better or for worse, made up a very small percentage of my work experience over the course of my GIS career. However, cartographic projects have often gotten me more engrossed in my work – to where it was reeeaally hard to push myself away from my desk at the end of the day – than many other types of GIS projects/work have. And so naturally, after finding this forum and lurking for a couple months, I simply had to join.
