I just got my Fall 2005 Cartographic Perspectives (just in time too - a couple more days and it's going to be winter...) and I found a very interesting article on making bird's-eye view maps by Tom Patterson from the NPS.
I am finding the article very insightful and wanted to pass along an online link of the article that Tom is hosting on his Shaded Relief site. http://www.shadedrelief.com/birds_eye/ The gallery is especially interesting. http://www.shadedrelief.com/birds_eye/gallery.html -------------------- Oregon Metro - Portland, OR

Matthew,
Thanks! Those gallery samples are tremendous! I could look at images like this for days on end.....and do, since my firm also does a great deal of 3D perspective work. Awesome link....I really appreciate it. -------------------- |
