Just found this site after looking for online topo. maps. I grew up around maps- dad is a geologist and also an avid collector of old maps. All three of us kids appreciate good maps. My brother even went in to mapping as aprofession, if you can call architecture a branch of mapping :D

Welcome to Cartotalk!

I was just thinking of Wyoming recently with regard to the new Shaded Relief Archive. I recall an old state road map of Wyoming that had some absolutely gorgeous manual shaded relief. It was an official state product that may have come from from the DOT?

I can recall being mesmerized by it in my youth on our annual summer pilgrimage from Missoula, MT to North Park, CO Next time I'm back home I'll scour the 'glove compartments' to try and find it. Whoever made it was a master and I'm curious who did it. Do you know too what I'm referring?
