Hey community,
I have to krig some elevation-data. While there are a lot of free GIS which are able to krig (I use gvSIG + SEXTANTE), I can't find a program which calculates a semivariogram to obtain the parameters I have to tell to the kriging process.
I've downloaded Pirol Open Jump, because this should handle it, but I just can't find the option..strange, perhaps I got a wrong version (although I downloaded it at the source: http://www.al.hs-osnabrueck.de/jump-download.html)
Do you know any programs for this? (it would be great if they could directly read .shp files or something like this.)
thank you!

hi,
thank you. I'll try that, but unfortunately I haven't worked with R yet. (I've rent/bought some books now to learn it because it's so important)
