How to lie with maps is one of my favourite books and here is something that reminded me of the many ways you can make the same data look quite different!! Follow this link, remember I mean it in the nicest possible way

I don't mean to offend anyone with this post, especially those of you on the North American continent!!

I'm not a nationalist at all so that doesn't offend me at all. And the dragon gave me a good laugh. Overall though the map is not marketable.

You can never be to careful!
I observe you as a very patriotic bunch over there, I didn't know if a picture showing your continent as a fire breathing dragon would offend or not?!?! Glad that it didn't!

I think anyone that gets offended at this needs some serious help. I guess if that was a certain province though, Canada might be going through another referendum right about now.
I guess I just don't really get the statement the drawing is trying to make though and maybe that is why it doesn't offend me

hahaha
It kind of does - not as scary as a fire breathing dragon, but I think it could hold its own if a fight breaks out between the two!

That last map is gorgeous! Those are exactly the kind I am looking for. The North American dragon is certainly humorous but perhaps is a more telling political statement than was originally intended. I am not sure that same can be said about Australia.

Now all I'm going to see when I look at a map of North America and a dragon.
Thanks!
