This is just a quick note to advise y'all that our really cool geospatial PDF map app for iOS is now live on iTunes.
Check it out here: http://itunes.apple....388424049?mt=8#
or search for Avenza or PDF Maps in iTunes.

The app is free and will enable geospatial PDF maps AND even GeoPDF formatted ones to be used with the GPS and locational abilities of iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches. There are lots of other features too so have a look and try it out.

The full press release will follow later this week but I figured some anxious folks may want to have an early look.

Cheers
Ted

Very cool! Congratulations. I grabbed the iPhone app (for my iTouch) and it looks great. This will be a wonderful new tool for one-off GPS enabled mapping.

I didn't see any link ref to the map library though, is that still a work in progress?

Click the plus sign "+" and you will see some ways to add maps.
One of the ways is from Avenza's site.
Right now though there are not too many maps available so anyone who wants to share their maps are invited to send them in and we'll add them.

Thanks Ted, I see it now. I downloaded a couple maps this morning, including a copy of my Hart NAR submission. The other maps seem to work ok but my Hart NAR map will not open on my iTouch. It begins to "Process" the map then gives me an out of error memory before shutting off PDF Maps. My device has 11GB free so I know that's not the real issue. Any ideas? I should probably contact Avenza through the official PDF Maps help channel.

I just tried that map on m iPad and it worked fine.
Try rebooting your Touch and trying again.
And BTW, which Touch do you have? Some of the older ones are too ill-equiped to process the maps.

That's probably it. I think it's a 2nd gen iTouch (2008 16GB). Dang, I'm out of date... iPad here I come!
