Maponics Continues Rapid Expansion of School Boundaries Coverage

September 14, 2010

NORWICH, Vt. – Maponics (www.maponics.com), provider of location-based data, announced today the second release of Maponics School Boundaries TM, the only GIS data product to include attendance zone boundaries, the areas around public schools that define the households that attend them. In addition to updates to nation-wide school district boundaries, this release includes significant expansion of locally-sourced school attendance zones, which now cover 34,000 public schools attended by 40 percent of the US student population.

School attendance zones have been a missing piece of the puzzle for real estate, federal and state government, and a host of other industries—whether they are looking to display properties in relation to public school options or analyze public health by areas based on school attendance. With this release, Maponics continues to develop local school contacts and execute on the aggressive coverage expansion plans announced earlier this year.

“With their School Boundaries product, Maponics is providing the means for parents to quickly and easily see public school options relative to property locations,” said Bill Jackson, Founder, President, and CEO of GreatSchools. “We are excited to be partnering with Maponics and to license School Boundaries data to make our web resources more useful to parents.”

“We’ve had significant interest from early adopters following our initial release of School Boundaries,” said Darrin Clement, CEO of Maponics. “With our expanded coverage of school attendance zones, now in nearly 2,500 cities across 44 states, we’re adding significant value for our customers and opening new market opportunities.”
