Here is a time and distance map of Frodo's journey I recently did. Some interesting data popped up (for me) during the process, for example the longest chapter in the book (The Council of Elrond) involved no travel at all.
It's in .pdf / vector format for ease of viewing.

Cool! I never realized so far how different the actual time spans are. The time spent in Rivendell seems much shorter while Sam and Frodo's odyssey in the Two Towers seems to take forever...
