When I save an EPS file in Illustrator CS4 I get two files, one with the original file name and one with "-01" appended to the name. This seems to happen only when I check the "Use Art boards" option on the save-as dialogue. I have to discard the original named file and rename the "-01" file.
Anybody know why this happening?
"-01" added to my EPS file names?

According to CS4 help for Save in EPS Format :
5. If you want create separate files for each artboard, click Use Artboards, and select All or specify a range. Separate files are saved with a master EPS file containing all artboards. If you deselect this option, a single EPS file is created with all artboards preserved.

ahh, I see whats its doing. I'm using this option to force the EPS to use the art board dimensions when converting to PDF. If I don't select it I get a PDF with margins set to cover the extent of any hidden art, regardless of the art board.
I wonder if there is another way to force the PDF to set dimensions to the art board?

David,
You can select which artboard you want to use rather than the range and then you shouldn't get the -01 in the name.
