Canadian Geographic's map of almost the same area (but extending further north) uses Lambert Conformal, SP 62 and 75. Your Google doesn't go up to 75, but your own map may have to (in the central part) if you choose Lambert Conformal. Even so, you may want to use something like 70 or 72.

Ok thanks, Lambert Conformal is what I had but I wasn't sure if there was a more appropriate projection. The SPs are 62 & 70.
