Avenza is please to announce the immediate availability of the Geographic Imager 3.2 beta.

Important notes:
1. This is beta software and thus is likely to contain bugs and other issues. Please govern yourselves accordingly when using this beta.
2. This beta will only activate in demo mode. Even if you are fully licensed you will not be able to obtain an unrestricted license for this version at this time even if you have a valid maintenance contract in place.

Here are the important features of Geographic Imager 3.2:

Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Mac OS X support
Geographic Imager 3.2 is now supported on Mac OS X and Adobe Photoshop CS5 in both 32 and 64 bit.

Terrain Shader

The new Terrain Shader tool dynamically applies terrain shading, shaded relief and color maps to digital elevation models within Adobe Photoshop and even apply a specific light source position and intensity to achieve a specific shading effect.

Geospatial PDF support
The Geographic Imager geospatial PDF exporter offers the ability to generate Adobe Acrobat PDF files that contain all the cosmetic and geospatial characteristics of the original image.

Redesigned Geographic Imager panel
The Geographic Imager panel has been redesigned and improved. Adobe Photoshop CS4 and CS5 users will be able to use the new panel. Its behaviour is now similar to other native Adobe panels, allowing it to be docked, minimized
and hidden.

Advanced Import

Formerly known as the GeoCrop Import function, the Advanced Import is now available from the Geographic Imager panel. Advanced Import crops images before they are opened.

Transform options

The Transform tool now has more options. Easily specify a destination coordinate system from a file. Improved precision settings are now available to better control the balance of performance and quality while transforming images.

Export Paths to Adobe Illustrator (introduced in Geographic Imager 3.1, new for Mac)

Export paths drawn in Adobe Photoshop and import them and the spatial referencing into Adobe Illustrator using MAPublisher. This export feature generates an Adobe Illustrator file that contains a MAP View and MAP layer.

Crop to extents during Mosaic (introduced in Geographic Imager 3.1, new for Mac)

Use the new Crop to current canvas option in the Mosaic dialog box to crop to the extents of the destination document. Useful in situations where the outer portions of overlapping images are not required.

Bitmap Colour Mode Support
The ability to geo-reference and geo-crop images in bitmap colour mode.
