Though it's a bit late (!), I would appreciate any comments regarding the attached map.
It is a map I drew for a temporary exhibition at the Archaeological Museum of Ioannina (Greece), entitled:
"ALEXANDER THE GREAT: from Macedonia to the edge of the world". The exhibition includes mainly a relevant numismatic collection.
The map, depicting the route of Alexander's forces, was supposed to show -among else- the idea of the "ecumene"; the sense that the whole world is somehow ... a big neighborhood(!). The map was designed almost from scratch, meaning that ancient sources had to be cross-checked, regarding the identification of the placenames etc...
Here I'm attaching a view of the map, three more details, as well as a view of the exhibition hall. I need to say that the specific background and titles colors were demanded by the whole scenography of the exhibition. Unfortunately, except for the titles and main placenames, the whole map is in Greek; however, I hope you get the whole thing...
Thanks in advance,
-orlon
