Greetings,

I saved a map from AI CS2 to an EPS.
When the EPS file is opened in Pshop 7 there is white background for one of the layers.

I printed the map and it looks"normal"

Can anyone tell me what is causing this?

Nope. Deleted the clipping masks.

Export half the layers and see if you can isolate the problem to one half of the file, than narrow it down to a particular layer.

Not sure what the cause it but this is the way to isolate the problem and find the problem object(s).

Check if you have transparency applied to an object on a given layer. That may cause some odd effects occasionally when exporting to an EPS.

The fill for the layer was selectecd to be transparent, but apparently was not.
I selected the layer and chose no fill/ transparent and this solved the problem.
