We're Boardwalk, a branding and design firm that's been handed a mapping project, which is a little off the mark for us. We need an experienced freelance cartographer to help us do this right.

We're open to other methodologies if you have more efficient ideas but, as best as we can figure, the process will go like this:

We'll have GIS data provided to us. We need someone to import it into ArcGIS and manipulate it there so that it can then be exported to Adobe CS3 and further manipulated with MAPublisher and/or Geographic Imager. Final document will be created in Adobe InDesign. We will have 4 weeks to complete the task. We'd prefer to find someone to do the entire job but, if you can at least get it into CS3, we can take it from there.

This is a map of a state recreational area. Showing roads, topographical and vegetation info, points of interest, etc.

Experienced freelance cartographers are encouraged to submit questions, qualifications and estimates to kevin@boardwlk.com. No phone calls please.

Again, all are encouraged to apply but preference points will be awarded for:

1 - freelancing experience
2 - design skills as well as cartography skills
3 - proximity to Los Angeles (in-person meetings may be necessary)
4 - pricing
