Forgive me if this a dumb question...
Until recently I have been doing all my Illustrator/Photoshop work on a Mac and GIS work on PC. A headache I know. I just recently installed Illy CS4 on my PC to prevent having to go back and forth. Now all my shapefile vector datasets contain an Adobe Illustrator "Tsume" file, which was formerly, and presumably still is, the .sbx file from the shapefile.
I did a little searching around and still don't understand the relationship/connection between these two file types, if any. Everything still seems to be working fine, but I often provide shapefiles as deliverables and don't want my clients to have any problems with them.
Anyone know more about this?
Do I need to tell my computer to treat .sbx's as GIS files instead? Or just let it be?
Thanks!

Probably just let it be. It's just the name that Windows shows for the filetype. .sbx is one of the non-essential parts of a shapefile anyway. You'll always open the .shp one.

Thanks Hans. I'll leave it alone for now.
The sbx does seem to be non-essential and is described as "spatial index" file. But I still have no idea what a "Tsume" file is. Oh well maybe some things are better left as mysteries.

It's got something to do with spacing/kerning Asian text, as far as I can tell.
