Hi -- I'm new to CartoTalk -- I'm a GIS programmer in New York City (ESRI APIs, JavaScript, OpenLayers, etc.), and as such I'm a little more familiar with code than with cartographic best practices.
For instance, among the several things I'm interested in getting advice on, right now I'm looking for a highly detailed dataset with country and administrative boundary polygons. I have the ESRI layers that come with the EDN license, but I"m wondering if those are considered the "gold standard" or if there are better ones out there? Anybody have thoughts on that?
Thanks!
