I needed some good quality ortophoto maps for my project. I found very useful opensource tool called gMapmaker which can easily download and merge tiles form various sources including Google maps. However, the only one possibility to get image with some georeference is OziExplorer map file.
I am just curious if someone here tried to convert it to standard world file to use the map in GIS. The file has this structure:

I assume, that the points coordinates could be extracted and used as georeferencing points in QGIS, but I am afraid that QGIS will use some transformation while the map is already in correct format.
I also think that the last numbers:
MMPLL,1, 14.295959, 49.115231 MMPLL,2, 14.370117, 49.115231 MMPLL,3, 14.370117, 49.090956 MMPLL,4, 14.295959, 49.090956 MM1B,0.403228define the map corners coordinates and the cellsize, but I am not sure. I will play a little with it.
Does anybody already have some experience with this?
