Greetings from Midwest USA!

I have perused the forum a bit in the past month or two and thought it would be polite to introduce myself. I am a county GIS Analyst within the outer bounds of the Chicagoland area with extensive experience in solving problems in the quickest most efficient manner possible. Granted, this causes finished work to look unappealing at times and I do not find comfort in leaving said work in such condition. With such requests and demands of the seemingly daily workflow I find it difficult to grasp the cartographic principles I feel I need to transform a so-so piece into a thing of beauty, so to speak. Thus, here I am.
