I stumbled upon this link today: http://www.careervoy...erging-main.cfm
There's quite a bit here, but what I found interesting:
1 - Geospatial Technology is one of just two emerging industries they choose to highlight.
2 - there's a great (my opinion) simple description of what GIS is: http://www.careervoy...hnology-gis.cfm
3 - there's a list of "In-Demand Occupations" which includes Cartographers (though they're lumped together with Photogrammetrists). Projected growth seems pretty good here.
There's a whole lot more, including salary info and growth predictions until 2016 by state...
... and finally, it looks like they need a video of a cartographer at work. Maybe someone here can help ; )

Interesting links, thanks.
You know if they want some video of cartographers at work they could contact CSAA (now AAA of N. California). They shot us a few times in the past, of course they always got the guys doing scribe coat and prepping film! Even though we were mostly doing digital cart. Oh well.
