I did an MSc in GIS at the University of Leeds finishing two years ago. It was a very good course and landed me straight into a GIS job, which I wouldn't have got had I not got a MSc.
Whether or not you need a masters to do the actual job I'm not so sure, but having the qualification provides more opportunities I think.
Benefits of Masters degree?
