Again resurrecting an old topic...

A few useful links:
Color use in cartography
A website by Cynthia Brewer with a lot of useful information on the use of colors in cartography, especially on choosing colors that will work on-screen, projected, printed and even copied.

Projection tool
A handy tool for understanding map projections.

Mercatorial Greetings !

Hope some more non-admins will be around soon... ;)

Have a look at:

http://www.reliefshading.com/

A great site about shaded reliefs. It is made in the spirit of Eduard Imhof. It also has a nifty Java Applet where you can change the direction of the light source.

and also:

http://www.shadedrelief.com/

Which has been noted elsewhere. More technical but also more practical than the first link.

Regards,

Andreas

I've moved this one to this area (as it seems it was me who placed it in the wrong section).
